Department of Geography
The Department of Geography was established in 1996. The Honours stream was introduced in the same year. It has a library with 223 books and 12 computers. Internet facility is available. To celebrate the autumnal equinox (22nd/23rd September), the department organized a seminar and cultural programme on 25th September, 2012. In the seminar, Dr. Pradip Malhotra delivered a lecture on 90° S: Journey to the South Pole. Dr. Malhotra, was the team doctor with the 1st Indian Scientific Expedition to the South Pole in November, 2010. During the second half of the programme the students and staff of the department performed selections from Tagore’s Nataraj Riturangashala.
